Hi,
I'm using corel paintshop pro X8 and i upgraded from X3.
When I'm using the pen-tool (with connected segments on) I'll have to press 'apply' to start a new line. In X3 I was able to make the 'apply' button into a shortcut, this way I only have to press the spacebar to apply. But now, with the X8, I cannot find the tool to make this shortcut. I do know how to make a shortcut for other tools but not for the apply button.
Help would be appreciated very much,
Thanks,
Ruud

Re: using the pen-tool and apply
It's no longer available as an option. Technically "Apply" or Apply Shape as it's called just runs a single command "VectorSelectNone." You can easily run this in a script. So you can do this with a script.
Add vector points, then start recording a script. Hit Apply. Save the script. Go to View -> Customize, bind the script to an icon. Go to the keyboard tab and assign Space to run this bound script. It takes longer to setup but should essentially do the exact same thing.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice! It works exactly how I hoped it would.

Re: using the pen-tool and apply
Hi,
The script assigned to the spacebar worked perfectly. But this morning the script wasn't assigned to the spacebar anymore. I reassigned it and 30 min later it was disconnected again. Everytime is assign te spacebar (or any other key) to the script it works for a short period of time and then it stops working. How can I make sure that the assigned key stays assigned?
Thanks,
Ruud

Re: using the pen-tool and apply
You may have a corrupted workspace. You'll have to do a factory reset. Close PSP. Then hold the SHIFT key while opening PSP back up. It'll ask if you want to reset the workspace to factor defaults. Say yes. All configurations will be lost, bound scripts, changed keys, etc. If you've done heavy edits I suggest saving your workspace first in case this doesn't work.
