Might this indicate some sort of codec problem? But why happens betw some tracks and not others? And why on the ones that it does happen on, you can put those tracks in a new project ans they render clean. So it can't be the tracks itself, has to be something that happens in the rendering process and only at the fade in/ out location.
So maybe its not codec but a bug w the fade in/out??

I should prob bring all the tracks into X8 and see if it happens there? Maybe save this x9 project as an X8 project, open in X8 and render the audio track?

Hi Ilene

No need to be sorry---you do seem to be having your share of trouble with your audio.

It may be best for you to create a short project that shows the audio problem.
Then create a Smart Package of the project, zip and upload to a sharing site, Google Drive, One Drive, and Dropbox for example, are free to use.

Unfortunately, I will be away till the end of September but am sure others on the forum would test your project.

So what could be the problem.
1 / Corrupt or problem clips used in the project, maybe a missing codec, but I doubt that.
2 / Incorrect project settings that may mix frame rates?
3 / Have you tried rendering the project without using Smart Render?
4 / If others do not have a problem then you have to consider it being your computer, maybe needs the Audio drivers updating / re-installing.
Your profile to the right of your post does not show any details of your pc, can you update your profile to include your pc specs.
5 / It maybe that we find the same issues in which case the files may need converting to a more editable format / type.
6 / Fade Out does not fade to silent, not completely, although normally we don’t hear that lower level.
If the audio level is very high at the end of a clip then Fade Out may not reduce the level sufficiently and we may hear that lower level. (clear as mud – I know what I mean)
Can you check the end frame levels before you apply fade-out by viewing the Wave form in Sound Mixer

Just trying to think of all options, but the Smart Package would help us to id any problems?

Hi Ilene

To edit your forum profile look at the top left of this topic, I see the words “User Control Panel”
I then choose the Profile tab, I see in the lower part of the list where I can input computer details.
Once added they will show similar to my details to the right of this post.

Hope this helps.

Same problem audio glitch problem present in x10. I am hugely dissapointed and reported to corel today. There was a patch for this in x9. Never tested to see if it helped. Hopefullybthey can come up w a solution in x10. So frustrated to have a sully issue as fading out an audio track -- a basic function-- to be cauding such an issue.

Hi Ilene

You seem to be having an ongoing issue with these audio glitches what seems like years.

Can you share your project so we can test your files / project.
Are you able to create a shorter project, edit till you hear the glitches
Then create a Smart Package, zip the folder and upload to a sharing site.
Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox etc.

I realise the files may be large, but I cannot think of any other way to proceed as we have covered all other options.

Oh… I have just read the earlier reply from Auz ( Corel) September 20th, did you provide that package?
Clearly Auz did not fix the issue?
What was the outcome with your discussions with Auz?

As per Auz they fixed the problem w a hot fix/ patch back in december for x9. I complained that there was no fix for x8, but they wouldnt provide it. I never jumped back to 9 bc i was using 8 and had it set up exactly as I needed it. Also knew x10 was coming soon, so i just forged on and tried a variety of time consuming work arounds.

I just started to use x10 and was shocked to still have the problem.

I had provided Auz w smart package last fall. That's when this all started. It may seem like years but it's only since last fall. Corel was absolutely able to replicate the problem. Said there was an issue w the mp4 and mov rendering engines. Btw-- this is the format of my output files... 1920x1080 mp4 or mov If I render a wmv audio file, you dont hear the glitch. But the wmv quality is terible... just very thin.

Still waiting to hear back fr Auz based on my current finding. I can smart package but I have to replace all my proprietarty data w stock images --- the project is about 4 min long so far. Give me a few days.

Thanks
Ilene

Hi Ilene

I would suggest you now start working with X9, all projects created with X8 will open using X9, identical project, so there should be no problems in using X9.
If you feel there may be a problem, once you have opened the project in X9, create a Smart Package, you can then work from that package knowing you have all files used on the project in one folder.

Interesting that Corel provided a Hot Fix, usually they are a replacement file.

If Corel provided you with a file can you pass that on, or provide the download link.

Did you try applying the same hot fix to X10.
Your version of x10, would that be the purchased version or the trial.

Maybe it wasnt a hot fix but it was an update. When i opened x9 it asked to install an update or patch.
I am no longer using 8 or 9 but both are still installed. I am using 10 and the same problem is present. No idea if there fix really worked in 9... i did the update but never created a whole project in 9. I can save my 10 project in 9 and see if the same issue is present on render.
In the meantime on my current project i took the fade off the mp3 audio track and the problem went away..... but it will undoubtedly pop up on other tracks as i continue on w the project.

Only seems to happen w other data on video and overlay tracks. If i try to repicate in just an audio file in a new project you never see it.

I'll try to smart package for you.

Thanks

I rendered out a clip just so you can listen to what happens. see link ... at approx. 3 seconds, one song fades out and another begins and this is what I hear.
You never hear this on the time line during playback... you can sort of hear it if you scrub the audio...
either way it is unacceptable...
If I remove the fade out, it would be ok.

I will work on that smart package in next few days

these songs are the 2nd and 3rd songs on my timeline. I had no issue between the first and second songs. This error has a bizarre randomness to it that I haven't been able to isolate.

the audio files are mp3, but it happens the same if I use wav files too...

need to get COREL on this!!! Cleary, I'm not the only one w an issue.
