ASP3 linux - bad magic on opening jpgs
Re: ASP3 linux - bad magic on opening jpgs
My "Solution":
AS3 crashed , reading JPEG Files. But only Files edited with ImagMagick.
I used ImageMagick Convert to resize images.
After i used GraphicsMagic - a ImageMagick Fork - there are no more Problems.
I think, there are some Linux Apps using Imagemagick Libraries, so there are more possible Problems...
Tested with Linux Mint 17.3 and 18 - based on Ubuntu 16.4 and 18.4

Re: ASP3 linux - bad magic on opening jpgs
I found clearing the exif information allowed AFP3 to read the images again!
To clear all I did:
exiftool -all= DSC_2765.jpg
To clear all I did:
exiftool -all= DSC_2765.jpg
Re: ASP3 linux - bad magic on opening jpgs
Well, as of yesterday this defect remains unfixed with no fix date available.
As far as I am concerned this software is not fit for purpose.
If I cannot even browse an extensive range of pics in RAW and JPG format without the thing crashing it is not a viable product.
I requested a refund via Cleverbridge - so far no reply but there we are.

Re: ASP3 linux - bad magic on opening jpgs
I upgraded to 3.1.0.181 and can't seem to see photos on my Gentoo system (JPGs and Olympus RAW ORFs). My process of installation involves unpacking the RPM to / on the file system.
Prior versions, this wasn't an issue... The log file indicates that the application can "scan" for files, but the editor UI will not render them for some reason (see attached screen shot).
I also noticed that fuji camera profiles don't even exist in the current RPM bundle. I double checked just to be sure. The log is throwing this error during initialization:
