I am new to ASP and either I don't understand the method for setting up Keywords or ASP Keywords are CLUNKY.
Firstly though I should explain how I want to use Keywords
- I want to break them up into 2 levels, the top level being for "Categories" - like People, Events, Locations etc
- Second level is the detail - like Names of specific people or Locations, Events etc
- A photo might have several Peoples names and locations (country, city etc) and an Event like "2016 Cruise"
This what I how I am setting up for the above structure
1. Create a Keyword Set for each category (Level 1) in left panel (How do I make this come up as the
default when Keywords are invoked?)
2. Add subs to each of these Categories so it looks like this
3. I then add the new set Name (My Set) to the right panel
4. Then drag & drop each sub from the left panel to the right panel
and I think I'm done.......like this.....
This seems to work OK when the list has about 20 items BUT my keyword list will be enormous
and (as far as I can see) the only way to add a keyword to an image is to scroll down the list and select
and repeat for every keyword on every photo.......PHEW. Particularly when you consider the available size of keyword list panel.
I know I can type them directly into the Keyword panel BUT these keywords are not included in the main list,
and sort of disappear into the ether......
I do not believe there is no Autofill function in such a professional package. (or am I wrong)
Comments please.

You're right that the editor is clunky - I've had my own issues, not to mention the matter of backing up / exporting the keyword sets and then trying to re-import (after an upgrade for example).
My own keyword list is huge, ie.Family members by name, Music festivals by year and artist etc.
You seem to be pretty organised, and my best advice is a: When sorting your photos for importing into a catalogue, add any necessary keywords at the import stage, or at least a basic set to thin the group down, and b: Use copy and paste on the keyword window, so groups of photos with multiple keywords can be tagged together. I've not come across an autofill feature for keywording either - perhaps a future release

Re: Setting up Keywords in ASP3....advice PLEASE!
So it appears I am doing alright and ASP is lacking somewhat.......mmm a little surprising considering it's power elsewhere.
I have discovered that you can actually repeat a structure in the right pain.....
Instead of having a single name for the set (as I had done) I have changed it
so the 2 levels still exist but each top level is the category
so it no looks like this and is easier (NOT EASY) to use.
