Playback is laggy as well as editing in general. Crashes randomly a lot. Anyone know whats causing this?

How long is a piece of string, you haven't told us much to offer any advice
What are your computer specs
What type of video are you trying to edit, what was the camera used
If HD video, do you have Smart Proxy enabled

The more information you can provide will allow members to offer the correct advice
