For the second time, I ended up getting that evil orange line on the top of my timeline again. The one that also drove so many other people crazy according to how many people have googled it with anger.
The only way I could find out how to get rid of it was to drag the handles on the scrubber just below the preview window, to the left. So the orange line disappeared, but the scrubber still has those orange handles on the left and I can't get rid of them!
They're wreaking havoc on my video, making it impossible to continue working on it. It all started when I started testing out manually adding subtitles. Now I'm spending half the night trying to undo the ridiculously hard to use subtitle function.
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of those scrubbers so I can continue working on my video. I promised people I would have it done tonight but no way now.
Here are a couple of screenshots for what happened and how I can't figure out how to get rid of them.
I meant to write "Orange handles" in the first picture.

Re: That EVIL orange line!
In a nutshell, you've tried to trim the wrong thing. Trimming a clip with the orange handles works fine, but if you accidentally choose project and trim, you get that orange line.
Go to project mode, and in the preview window grab the handles and return them to the limits left and/or right. When the project is not trimmed, that orange line will go away.

Re: That EVIL orange line!
The left orange scrubber must be at the left end and the right orange scrubber must be at the right end of the line under the preview window
DO NOT put both scrubbers at the same end as shown in your screen grab

Re: That EVIL orange line!
Ok, I finally got it fixed with your suggestions. I think that what put that orange line there in the first place is that I used the wrong bracket. I used the one under the preview window instead of the one in the subtitle editor.
One thing I learned over and over with VS is don't make a mistake or you'll end up paying for it. Control Z doesn't always work with it.
Thank you all very much! Also, with watching more videos on the subtitle editor, I have it understood much better now. If only corel would explain it as good as some videos on Youtube.
Thanks again!!!
