Cannot edit Rolling Text
I was under the impression that Rolling text would be able to scroll many lines of text but I found out the hard way that that's not true. I wanted to make credits at the end of my video but your only allowed about 5 or 6 lines with that "title". What happens if you need to enter more text at the end? Yes, the text rolls at the end, but I don't understand why your only allow so few lines of text for that. I entered text at the very bottom to where you can hardly see it just to see if it would go up so I can see the text on the bottom, but no. Now I can't delete that text and I have to make it all over again.
Anyone know if I'm just doing something wrong or is that it. A lame scrolling text "feature".

Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
You are doing something wrong, using the scrolling text I can add or delete as many lines as I want, explain all the actions you are taking to create your scrolling text

Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
I used a different ending that I got from the instant project files. But I'll make a fake video to see where I might have gone wrong. I wonder if I can upload a screencast here in the forums so I can show that the scrolling doesn't scroll. It just sits there on one screen and I can't type past the bottom of the screen. If not, I'll do the best I can.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
Brian, that helped a lot. Thanks. I was using the animated scrolling title such as the one 5th from the left in your video. Also, I think I made the mistake of putting text in individual text boxes instead of the same box.
Robert, Did you use the animated scrolling text for the one you did? I tried it and it didn't work. The only thing is, like I explained above is that I didn't use the same box for all the text.
Oh well, live and learn.
Thanks a lot!!!

Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
The proper way is to make a long scroll is to write it in notepad and paste it in the animation.

ONE WAY - is to make a long scroll is to write it in notepad and paste it in the animation. - - just because Corel say it doesn't make it the 'proper' way - there are other quite acceptable ways

Certainly it's not proper because that demo, it's proper because long text, type & corrections are EZ done in text editor.BrianCee wrote:asik1 wrote:The proper way is to make a long scroll is to write it in notepad and paste it in the animation.

Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
I did use the animated scrolling text, but it does NOT automatically scroll as you type, when you reach the bottom of the preview screen it is necessary to grab the text box and move it up the screen, similar to that shown in Brian's video, then start typing text againrkstudio wrote:Brian, that helped a lot. Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
As far as I can see the problem with putting everything in one box is you are stuck with the same font attributes for the whole of the scrolling text. What if you want some text larger that others ?

Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
Did you try to make changes? It is very easy - highlight the desired text then from the Edit tab all text property variables are there for you to use.delboy007 wrote:As far as I can see the problem with putting everything in one box is you are stuck with the same font attributes for the whole of the scrolling text. Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
I don't understand what is going on here. I loaded your sample and yes font attributes have been changed. If I highlight a single line then the font attributes are greyed out so I can't change them.
If I load a new scrolling text title it is the same, I can change attributes for the whole box but not an individual line.

Re: Cannot edit Rolling Text
Hi
Double clicking the text box will set the curser as a single line, same as you see when using “Word” ( the trim handles will also disappear )
Try it on the sample where the text is large.
Now drag the curser to highlight the text or individual characters, a little tricky where the text is small.
Once selected we can change the font size, colours etc
