When I begin the process, it imports the photo as a black picture to start with. Any fix for this?

I tried this on one of mine. The preview seems underexposed compared with the normal treatment. I could adjust this, but only up to a point. Have you tried tweaking the "central" exposure?

No effect. And when splitting the photo, there is no difference in exposure between the three pictures. Something's very wrong. Still works in Paintshop Pro, thankfully.
