Good afternoon,

I'm looking at different videos you made and the one you named Custom Transition is puzzling me. Is that transition actually a picture you inserted in the Overlay track, fit to screen and finally applied « Customize Motion » ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIkvNXx8siI

For the one named Counter Test, how did you make the « Rolling down » of the numbers ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdT9IvwUePE

For « vapourtrail », did you use Painting Creator and how did you apply sort « black lines » at left side ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxTeYf76z04

In https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CUkWHo_mic, you probably used Painting Creator or is it Roto Pen, but how did you make that straight line ?

There's a lot of questions in one post

First the "Custom Transition" - that is indeed just a picture in the overlay track - not using customise motion but just using the basic motion - 'enter from the left - leave to the right' - simply done to show there are simple variations to using supplied transitions which can use an image which matches your videos - and importantly for some people does not overlap the videos and shorten the project.

The numbers are just a series of numbers on plain backgrounds (made outside Videostudio) put in the timeline and the basic motion 'enter from the top leave at the bottom applied' to each one - this was made full screen then rendered into a separate video which could be put in an overlay track of the final production and sized to fit down near the bottom corner

The vapour trial is a straight line on an image with a transparent background (made outside Videostudio) - this was put in the overlay track and 'customise motion applied to make it move across the screen at the right speed - the 'black lines' was just the start of an attempt to show the vapour trial breaking up - just extra lines on the original drawing

The straight line was drawn on a plain background (outside Videostudio) - a plain clip in one of the overlay tracks covering the line is again made to move by using basic motion - 'exit right'

all quite easy really - but remember it is not compulsory to use only Videostudio when looking to make effects use all the software you have access to

After a few weeks off the forum, I'm coming back.

I'm in the process of trying some of your videos you uploaded to YouTube.

In the one named : « Making_appearing text 03_ », the texts, in your project, start at 01:01 and 11:20 seconds. In my project, the texts start at 02:20 and 12:15 seconds. It might seem of no importance to the majority of people, but, for me, it's puzzling me. What did I do wrong ? I've followed and copied exactly what was shown.

I've uploaded the project (BrianCee-Making_appearing text 03_) on my « onedrive » site under « Problems or trials ».

The difference is that your text is much shorter than mine - look at the image below and you will note that my text has quite a few more characters than yours - so that when you put the title on the centre of a 10 second clip mine will be nearer the ends than yours so mine starts earlier - if you want the same timings you must make your text contain the same number of characters as mine - you did not copy mine exactly

I've just completed the « box around » a text. Very easy when we follow instructions from the link, to a post, you inserted on You Tube (Sweep Transition).
