Considering upgrade from V8SE to V9 full - question first...

So far, the only thing that bugs me is the file handling....

In version 8SE...

My projects are more "slideshow" than live action. so, for instance, for Project 1, I import approx. 15 still images (*.jpg) from another source. I have all the thumbnails lines up, I drop them into my time line, add my titles, transitions, music, etc, etc, etc. Everything looks good, so I save it and give it a name. Life is beautiful.

Now, it's time to begin Project 2. So, I select "File" then "New" - but all the thumbnails for Project 1 are still hanging out, so I have to delete them individually (there is no "Edit, Select, All" option to delete them) in order to start with a "clean" page for Project 2, which will again contain approx 15 different images.

Each of these little projects will essentially be clips for the final main project. My main project will contain between 10 and 20 of these sub-projects. Which means wading though approximately 150 to 300 *jpg's per main project, with no apparent method of organizing these into folders.

does the full version 9 have better file handling capabilities than this?

Thanks in advance, Barb

Barb, also when you are deleting the files from the previous project, you can click on the first and press shift when you click on the last and that will select them all. I have had to do this a number of times doing the same kind of project that you are doing. It came to me when I was doing a 72 piece project. The other thing I have done is create a blank template file. When I am ready for a new project I can open this file and know I have everything like I want to start it, but with no files in the timeline. The tricky thing here is to remember to do a save as, rather than a save and mess up your template.

Hope that helps a little.
