How to disable a motion tracker (X8)

I added a motion tracker to a clip, and set it up, then changed my mind. But cannot get rid of it.

How do I remove the tracker? If I create a new project, the "tracker" data seems to be attached to the clip, is there a simple way to toggle the whole motion-tracking tracker thing off and not to just make it do nothing/hide it, I want to remove it?

When I have a motion tracker that I want to delete, I go back into the « motion tracker window », add a new motion tracker without doing the tracking. That adds a new track under the first one and then I can delete this first one.

Ah , bonus. I suspected it was achievable somehow with a bit of un-obvious or gratuitious clicking about. I was about to start hunting for the tracker database files.

Add tracker, but don't hit "record/track", and then remove old one. Simpler for next time.

You changed your mind in what respect?
in what way the unwanted tracker bothers your workflow that hiding it isn't OK?

Hi, Have been editing/making DVDs kids & holidays for 20yrs using Corel with challenges but always success with the end project & just upgraded Sept 2021 to this version.

ISSUE: Somehow ? a button must have been clicked - motion video tracker appeared & now can't remove.

Read info on Discovery Centre / Internet Manual / Corel Support & on Users & see only one option mentioned even back from 2016 - "to add another tracker, without doing tracking then delete". I don't know how it got there in first place. Any options I look at are shaded out as other users have commented - remove/delete/disable/discard/reset to default in various places. If I go to a previous saved project in my Library & open yes it automatically attaches also - which I noted others mentioned. Thought I could use a previous & then delete current.

With 2021 Version what is the process to remove tracker - I do not wish to utilize ?
A process in simple terms, please as I'm a no tech "Nana".

Using Video Studio 2021

From the timelines we see a clip having a yellow star, this indicates some filters have been added, allows us to access and customise those filters
But also allows us to delete

so a left mouse click will show the filter with a delete option.

Thanks Trevor for your reply that does seem simple... After computer off overnight I have opened & magically thought my issue "for now" seemed to have disappeared NOT SO back within couple of frames when adding text.

I did not have a yellow star on each clip but an orange box around each whole frame with the corner drag lines & tiny wording LH top "Video track" which when I clicked on gave no fixes/options. Is there something else triggering eg Titles motion effect first two frames only....anything else I can switch off.
Not sure if attached photos if they open will help show issue.
Sorry to bother again for ideas to rectify.

There is a feature to resize the video frame called Scale Mode, access to the right of the 16:9 icon
Please deselect that option
May reappear when adding other clips to the timelines

Hi again Trevor,
I can see options you have mentioned - sorry not sure what this fixes - I assume this related to Titles motion effect which I think I had sorted.

Main issue still is Video Tracker - orange box around each clip - how to turn that off. I have 57mins of clips loaded edited ready for text & it automatically carries orange box throughout all.

A little bit of confusion going on here.
Using Video Studio 2021
Track Motion when used will show the yellow star on the clip, other FX filters will also show this star.
We can left click the star allowing us to view all filters applied, also we can delete from here.

If your clip does not contain the yellow star then Track Motion is not being used.

The line around the preview screen is not the Video Tracker

The yellow line showing around a clip on the preview screen can be used to resize the video frame.
Please float your mouse over these icons to show a tool tip Distort Tools --- Scale Mode - Crop Mode
This line is automatically applied when inserting a clip to an overlay track.

If we do not wish to resize the frame then we can simply ignore the yellow line, otherwise we can turn that off,
by deselecting the blue icon showing on my previous post image.

You have now mentioned “Title”, what do you actually mean, I take it to mean adding text / words to the clip.

Thanks again for info...from this I now realize tracker was not on & the purpose of the yellow/orange frame outline on each clip to resize.
I have gone back to your previous solution Scale Mode & this time the deactivation seems to have worked.
So at this point in time...I'm happily moving forward & hope to continue in this manner.

Had previous issue Jan 2022 & rectified this issue many times from your advices.

This time no go with orange line showing around Preview Screen in Timeline View throughout whole project & by selecting blue icon or either icon not disappearing.
Closed project & tried multiple times - no success.
If desperate & not removing after further advices can I just proceed to add text & music etc & in the end will cause no additional issues with rendering ?

The orange line does not have any effect on the final render.

I assume the clip is a video, although I cannot see the selected clip?

Have you applied any other edits, FX Filters etc.

can you confirm which version of Video Studio you are using , I assume 2021

Oh, you do have to select the blue Scale Mode icon to deselect, switching between icons does not remove all.

I think I have found the problem, you have Grid Lines selected, that also shows the orange lines.

Thanks Lata - you're a wizz as usual after hours of my time trying to fix !!
Grid Lines were the issue.
Using video & still for project. Yes VS 2021. No "intentional filters" set have bumped grid lines when setting frame length.
All great - couple of seconds to fix. Appreciated.
