Ok. Thanks.
FYI ...as mentioned I'm trimming or extending ...in the time line ...by dragging the slider at the
End or beginning of the photo or video clip in the time line. When dong so, the adjacent clip is either extended or
Reduced (it's run time) by the amount of time I either cut or extend the clip I'm editing. Program does this automatically.
You can understand my frustration.
Thanks for the tips for saving my thumbnails and settings.
I hate to uninstall and reinstall but if I have to I will.
I'll wait for other responses.
Thanks very much

again you have not explained what you mean by trimming - what slider are you moving ?? do you mean the timeline cursor - how are you trimming - with the scissor tool ?? or what

Not the scissor tool. I'm dragging the beginning or end of a clip already in the time line to shorten or lengthen the clip ... Already inserted in the time line.
Pls see jpgs in my earlier post

do you click on the clip you want to trim so that it - and only it - is surrounded by a yellow line - them move only the yellow line at the end of just that one clip

Hi Mark

I have also tried as many ways as I can to replicate this strange behaviour but so far cannot do that.

I do not see any other way but to re-install the program as Brian suggests.

We did ask Corel to implement a similar editing feature, effectively moving the cut point and that would do exactly what you are doing, adding frames on one clip whilst removing them on the adjacent clip. To do that we would have to hold down a keyboard key- maybe shift then drag the trim bar, needless to say they have not implemented that feature.

Mark

Can you create a new project using the samples from the library -- are you able to replicate this issue?
If yes
Save the project as a VSP, Zip the vsp and attach to your post, we can then open the file to see if we get the same problem?

Is Corel good with phone support? I was thinking of calling their support line.

Just finished a chat with Corel. They were great. They have submitted a trouble ticket and are working on the issue.

Stay tuned!

I have been advised by Corel to uninstall all versions of VS on my machine. I have VS6 and 9. They said to uninstall both. Then reinstall 9 only. They say 6 may be conflicting with 9. Possible ??
However after backing up my library as per a post and advice here (thank you!)... I was concerned about the BluRay plug-in I purchased. How will I be able to install the purchased plug in without having to re-purchase? Is the file stored somewhere on my machine? If so, where can I find it.

thank you!

I have the module for both X8 and X9, and in both cases it downloaded into my general Downloads folder and labelled VideoStudioX8_Blu-Ray.exe and VideoStudioX9_Blu-Ray.exe. So look there...

Anything is possible, but I rather doubt it in this case. I -- and the other Admin/Mods here, and probably quite a few others -- have multiple versions of VS on the same computer, and all continue to work independently just fine. I for instance has X6, X7, X8.5 and X9 on the one computer, with no problems. Mind you, these were all installed sequentially i.e. X7 was installed after X6 had already been there for some time; and X8 only came well after X7 had been installed; and so on... If you (re)install X9 and after that try installing X6 again, you might find there could be a clash with some older X6 file overwriting a later X9 one...
