If the to edit track place a * .mov file with transparency, editor hangs. Task Manager shows the zero load of this process, but the screen (editor window) does not respond to any mouse clicking. Menu does not work, I can't drag and drop a any track between tracks.
*.mov without transparency is placed without problems.
It works so in X8 and X9 versions.

Re: *.MOV with transparency problemm
More information please. Particularly, what you mean by a .mov file to the edit track with transparency . . .
The closest approximation I could come to this was
- a .mov video clip in the 1st overlay track, and a simple colour background in the main timeline.
- Size the overlay track image to fill the preview window (select the clip, grab the handles and drag).
- Select the video clip, and in the options panel choose advanced motion, and in the panel that opens, for the last/rightmost keyframe, choose opacity of 10%. click OK.
When played in project mode that gives a steadily fading image - transparency: you can see more of the background image as the play proceeds. And it works fine, VS functions as normal.

Re: *.MOV with transparency problemm
if by ".mov with transparency" you mean a .mov with an alpa channel then unfortunately Videostudio does not support the alpha channel and as you have discovered will not play it

If you don't have any to try, grab the globe from here

you can also apply the NB drop shadow to it.

Re: *.MOV with transparency problemm
Hi Asik
I downloaded the Mov Jpeg2000 which imported to X9 ok.
I do need Quicktime installed otherwise I get a File Format Mismatch
Windows sees the file as an audio file not Mov video?

Hi
Some Mov and Mpeg4 require QuickTime, catch 22 I suppose.
But as far as I know the threat was with the QT Web Player not the QT codec.
