Photos added to Fastflick

Post by Mags365 »

Hi I am a new user to the webboard. I have recently purchased FastFlick and have made my first Movie which I found quite easy to do however some of my photos did not look quite right. I don't have Video Studio and realise I can't edit without it but is their something I can do before I put my photos into the slideshow. Is their a set size I need to use, have they all to be a uniform size. Hope someone can help
Kind regards
mags365 :)

Hi mags365

And welcome to the forums.

Your final video is probably 16:9 aspect ratio. The fastflick template will work best using 16:9 ratio images.

If some images are in Portrait then they may show a slight distortion.
Use images taken in Landscape mode, and as I say in 16:9 ratio where possible.

I was not aware that FastFlick was available as a stand-alone program, and can't find any reference to it on the Corel website. Where did you buy it from?

I had bought some scripts from Corel then saw a Silent Movie Template which I bought not aware that I needed the FastFlick to use it. When i found out I needed the FastFlick I purchased that
now I find out I need the Video Studio to be able to edit my movies?

Unfortunately that is true, most of the FastFlick templates are available from within Video Studio where they can be edited to your requirements, main reason why the majority of VS users do not use FastFlick. You should have researched a little more,in the description of the Silent Movie Template, it does state for use with FastFlick

And of course FastFlick comes "free" as an integral part of the Video Studio package...

I agree and have learned a valuable lesson which will save me money in the future. I got carried away with the thoughts of putting old family photos into a silent movie and thinking it would work with my Photoshop program as the scripts do. I am still learning about computers and struggled installing FastFlick but I got a lot of help from a Corel Technician and I can't say enough about the support he gave me. Much appreciated.
