Problems with VST adaptor when upgrading from version 2

Post by bengtfalke »

I have successfully been using version 2 for a couple of years. Then I upgraded to version 3 a couple of month ago and I have not been able to use version 3 this far.

Installation when good but when I try to start the program I get a lot of small dialogue boxes saying:

VST Adaptor Error
The following VST plug-in fail to load:-

It does not tell me what VST or why and I get 50 of those little boxes that I have to terminate and the nothing more happens.

Now, I am not surprised by the numbers because I have a lot of VST Plugins installed because this is my music making computer.... but please... what has that got to do with making a Photo DVD?

This problem is getting more and more urgent as version 2 no longer is good enough for me.

The last few project have been completed with the aid of Magix Photostory and I really hate that program..... ;o)

So please give me some advice fast!

Best regards/Bengt Falke

PictureShow does not have any plug-ins. What is VST?

This might be a virus or a spyware infecting your computer... :?

With all respect..... but I am no newbie in this.

I know that it is not a Virus or Spyware. I am the head of a big IT-department and I know these things fairly well. On this computer there is daily updated versions of NOD antivirus and Microsoft Antispyware + Adaware.

VST is the Virtual plugin standard invented by the German company Steinberg and is highly standardized and used by thousands of software producing companies.

DVD PS2 works very well here but during the startup of DVD PS3 it is obviously scanning for plugings and goes compleatedly lost and aborts.

I am looking for somewhere to disable this scanning, an startup attribute or a directory reference so I can point it somewhere else during the startup. I dont know why DVD PS3 does this scanning and I need some help to disable this.

I think you have changed the startup process in some way.

Please, I need urgent help with this.....

The plug-ins I'm talking about are additional features you can install to PictureShow. What you want to do is change the way PictureShow starts up? So basically you're trying to reprogram the software already... Sorry man you're looking at the wrong place. Not only can I help you with that, it is acutally downright illegal.

If you have a simple problem like the software not loading properly, you might want to start with the basic troubleshooting first like reinstalling the software and installing the patch.

I have of course reinstalled but it does not help at all.
Why are you so rude implying that I am doing something illegal. I am just trying to get a program that I have paid for to work.
