Windows 10 Upgrade - Lost "tag" catalog

Post by ray54 »

My system has been upgraded by Microsoft, from Win7 to Win10. I have PSP8 installed, and everything was working fine under Win7. After the upgrade to Win10, the "tag list" under "Collections" is empty. The tags on the individual photos still show in the "Manage" view. Is there a way to reload the Tag Catalog?

There's possibly an incompatibilty with PSP8 and Windows 10. Try running the programme in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and see how it goes.

I upgraded to Win10 some time last year. In PSP X8 the list of tags is there. These are tags I created in ASP and were copied into jpgs - I did not add tags within PSP (not that it should make a difference). So it appears that what you experience is not an automatic change in going from Win7 to Win10, it appears to be specific to your system.

Try resetting X8. Save your workspace, close PSP. Press the shift key when restarting and you will be prompted if you wish to reset the program. This process seems to solve a lot of hick-ups that occur.

Thank you both, but neither "compatibility with Win7" or the "reset" worked.
