scripts not displaying in Toolbar

Post by isb »

I am very new to Corel Paintshop Pro. I am using Paintshop Pro 8. I subsequently purchased a few scripts from another vendor, but that vendor's email does not work. So I am left to ask my ? here. I downloaded the scripts to the Restricted Scripts folder--at least I think I did, because their name shows up when I open that folder. But they are not displayed/available when I open the scripts toolbar, even when I and click on "ALL." What am I doing wrong? Please be very detailed in your reply, as I am 69 years old and have no clue what I am doing. Thank you.

First off, welcome to the forum! But can you please confirm that you have PSP 8 and not X8 (which is Corel's 'clever' way of saying version 18 -- 8 plus the Roman X for 10)?

Just to be sure:
1. Are you using PSP8 (older version brought out in about 2003 and on a CD) or PSP X8 (newer version with options for a grey work space area.)
2. When you downloaded the scripts were they .zip files or .PspScript files.
If a zip file then you need to extract the file first (often you can right click and Extract here to get the .PspScript file and that should be placed in your Scripts Restricted or Scripts Trusted folder.

Edit - Looking at your profile it says you have PSP 7 and 8 so unless you have updated I suspect it is PSP 8 you are using.
This raises some extra problems as some of the later scripts are not compatible with earlier versions of PSP, although most good script makers / sellers try and test them on earlier versions and make them compatible for all.
Where did you get your scripts from - Corel shop or an independent seller?
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Dear Ken,
Thank you for the reply. Sorry, I have Paintshop Pro x8. Did not realize there was a difference.

I purchsed them from an independent seller. I have unzipped the files, and yes, I am using pps8 Thanks for your ongoing assistance.
