PSP 8: Where are settings stored?

Post by terrypin »

Just installed PSP 8 on my new Win 10 PC. To save a little time, can I copy across a file to reproduce all my existing settings please? Perhaps an INI? Or are they in the registry?

--------------------

Win 10 is an alien UI environment after 15 years with XP so I'm keeping my apps as familiar as possible for a while. Apart from more features, would the latest version of PSP take advantage of my faster PC please?

The settings are all in the registry. I'm not familiar with PSP8, but if you save out your workspace. File -> Worspaces -> Save the file should appear in your My PSP Files/Workspaces folder. So if you've made a lot of UI changes that will help there. You can copy the workspace file over and load it into your new install.

I wrote a script in the scripts section for saving the preferences to a file. Someone commented it works in PSP9, so it might potentially work in PSP8 as well. It'll save a file to the Workspaces folder for your preferences/settings.
