Thank yu for the previous help getting my Sony DCRTRV520 to work on my computer. It was the Firewire port. I have 2 of them and only the one in the back was set up, so when I switched to the back plug the computer recognized the camera.
Now the problem is that after following all the commands to copy a Digital/Hi 8 tape and watching it stream onto the monitor, at the end i get a message that nothing was recorded. What do I have to do to get it to work?
I am sending this message from work, so I can't remember exactly what the message said, but if you need it, I will have to get it tonight and post it then.

Almost Working, But...
Capturing
Would you try restarting the program and try the capture process again. Before you capture you must disable any programs running in the background such as antivirus, antispyware, or any memory-resident programs. Enable DMA of your hardisk for optimal capturing. And you must unplug some USB devices such flash drive, bluetooth, etc. ^_^
