Triple Scoop

Post by pepegota »

Triple Scoop gives me a audio notification when I run a file. I am using SP3. How can I get it function without the notification?
I am not paying $19.95 for to be sure!

Unless you are prepared to pay for the privilege, Triple Scoop cannot be used, they are for preview only. Triple Scoop which have the music icon are the only ones that can be used without paying a license fee

Then why bother to include them? Why clutter up the program with stuff I, for one, will never use or pay for. There is plenty of copyright free music on the net.
I have gone back to SP2 and will remain there until this mess is sorted out.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Well, because of all the issues I had with SP3, which I am sure are Triple Scoop related, I have also gone back to SP2 and that's where I intend to stay until the SP3 mess is sorted

If you hide the Triple Scoop Library then it does not seem to affect the programme - with that library hidden I am now happily using SP3

This is almost like annoying pop-ups. I will just hide it. It should not have been ever issued.
I am using version 19.3.0.19 (64 bit Ultimate)

If I may pop in, it should be noted that even the included tracks are not actually "royalty-free"... that is, they cannot be utilized in projects where one would, as an example, upload/share the produced videos on YouTube, then Monetize them (place ads in them for monetary gain). It is all somewhat confusing:

» The Corel.com page for Videostudio states:
"Triple Scoop Music – Capture the mood of your movie with the perfect soundtrack. Get 17 royalty-free music tracks from Triple Scoop Music."
(one source example is here)

» But people have had their entire YouTube accounts closed for utilizing the Tracks in their videos

(a source from this very forum is here)

» BrianCee (helpful site admin here at these Forums) even stated what is at the Triple Scoop Website, namely:
YouTube's "Content ID" System - Why did I get a notice & what does it mean?

Record Labels, Music Licensors and Copyright holders around the world use YouTube's Content ID System to identify and manage their content on YouTube.

How does it work?

Every video uploaded to YouTube is scanned against a database of files that have been submitted to YouTube by content owners. When Content ID identifies a match between your video and a file in this database, it sends a notification message that copyrighted content has been identified in your video.

While this message may sound worrisome, it's not. The software is simply making a match between a song in the database and your video.

Once YouTube's software identifies a "match", it is up to the owner or licensor of the music to determine what to do.

In the case of Triple Scoop Music, rest assured that if you have a valid license for any music matched to Triple Scoop Music by YouTube's Content ID system, we will never authorize advertising, takedown notices or any other action on your video.
» However, the Official Triple Scoop Music Guide (PDF in the Folder where the Tracks are installed to when first installing Videostudio) states:
We’ve included 17 hand-picked songs and soundtracks for free use within your personal videos and photo slideshows. These songs are located in your “Extras” package within the “Triple Scoop Music” folder.
Looking for even more music? Visit our website at http://www.TripleScoopMusic.com to explore over 15,000 incredible songs and easy licensing for any project.
(Please note: These songs are provided for personal, non-business use only. See license listed below for details.)
So, it appears that although the included tracks can be used for 'home movies' and similar non-commercial projects - they are not truly "royalty-free" (and perhaps Triple Scoop should look up the term Royalty Free..).

Just sharing a caveat, for those here, and others that are considering using these tracks for anything other than personal, home movie-type projects... I feel badly for those who have had actions taken against them up to this point...

If I may be so bold as to suggest a somewhat more precise phrasing for their offer/material in Corel advertising for Videostudio, it could possibly be (for example, at the Corel website pages for Videostudio):

"Triple Scoop Music – Capture the mood of your movie with the perfect soundtrack. Get 17 royalty-free music tracks from Triple Scoop Music, useable without fees in your personal projects."

Perhaps this would clear up potential issues regarding the usage of this material and neutralize a large amount of communication, both towards Corel directly , as well as here at the User Support Forums, regarding these concerns, in the future.
