Homemade Plugins
Is it possible to make your own plugins for PSP? Without needing a masters in computer programming?
I've searched the net and found articles twenty years old, but nothing newer. I'm mainly interested in creating one for a pattern (rather than a filter).
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Homemade Plugins
You'll need programming skills to develop an Adobe-compatible effects plugin but depending on what you need to do there are some other options to consider...
PSP Scripts can perform do some clever things and might be what you need
PSP Brushes, Tubes and Patterns are simple to create
You can also add custom images to our plugins (either explicitly or by copying the resources into the relevant directories) if any of these do what you need - http://www.plugincreativity.net/index.shtml.
Let me know a bit more details on what you're trying to achieve and I'll try to help.

Re: Homemade Plugins
This actually looks like it might be an image generated by a fractal generator rather than a plugin. There are several free ones available I understand but very difficult to use. I want something similar for a Nautilus element in an image I'm working on and the fractal generator route was no good for me - so if I find a plugin which can do something similar I'll let you know. Or perhaps someone else already knows of one.

Re: Homemade Plugins
You could take a look at KPT FraxPlorer which was included with a number of versions of PSP. Here is just one example but there are a number of presets and of course you can tweak them to your liking.

Re: Homemade Plugins
Kathy - hi! Thanks for the information. I found a free download of KPT FraxPlorer, but my firewall kept blocking malware attached to it.
Oh, well...

Re: Homemade Plugins
Unless the developer says it's free (or it's included free as a bonus with a legitimate program like PSP) then it's likely not, so a copy that claims to be free is likely being distributed to spread a trojan or virus.Belle wrote:Kathy - hi! Re: Homemade Plugins
Belle - It looks like you are using X8. From within the program go to Help - Download More Content to get the KPT filters from Corel.Belle wrote:Kathy - hi! Thanks for the information. I found a free download of KPT FraxPlorer, but my firewall kept blocking malware attached to it.Oh, well...
