No Audio on X9 trial

I am 1/2 way through the 30 day trial of X9. It worked fine a week ago, but suddenly there is no audio on my videos that I bring into it. I tried an .mpg and an .avi and a .mod - some from camera, some were on my hard drive. My currently owned version is Pro X4. It stopped launching because of that Windows problem, so I need to upgrade.

I wondered if I tapped something on the screen of X9 that turned the audio off? When I check the video on the storyboard, the "mute" is not turned on.
When rendered, there is still no audio.
I want to upgrade, but not until I find out what's going on.
Any ideas will be treasured.

Hi

Are you able to run X4 to check the audio, it may be a computer issue.
If it works ok in X4 then maybe try re-installing the trial.
But first try resetting to factory defaults by re-naming the 19.0 folder.

I can't boot X4 at all, even after I deleted the two meddlesome Windows updates and blocked any more updates for the time being. However I will follow the rest of your advice and let you know what happened... THANKS!!

Some users running older versions of Video Studio found Corel offering X9 at a very low price, not to be missed, approx. £12 uk money.
You need to get X4 working so it shows the offers.
Unzip then paste this file to replace the existing file.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X4

X4 should run.
Re-boot the program till that offer appears, good luck.

I remember a month ago there was an offer on X4 for $14.99 upgrade. I did not take advantage of it, and never saw it again. I talked to their Customer Service a week after that, and asked for $$$ help, and all he could offer me was the current upgrade price.
We will take your above advice and let you know what happens. Thanks so much!

I just ran X4 and it gave me a 40% discount, then a 10% discount, not good.

I viewed the Corel Guide for Messages (orange icon top right) and all offers were showing one was for 85% discount

If the 85% offer mentions X9 Ultimate plus free NewBlue Cinema Effects, that is the one... though as Trevor said, it should be around US$15 or £12.
