Triple Scoop Music CVSX9

Post by lata »

Hi Guys

How many thumbnails do you see in the library. :?:

I have some 1028, not a typo 1028 thumbnails.

17 are MP3 same as CVSX8, whilst the rest are preview files.

When I add one to the timeline a file (m4a) is saved to my hard drive in the music folder.
At 1028 to go at I reckon I need over 8 Gb of space.

Navigating and playing these thumbnails is very slow with the program freezing for a while.
Playing the thumbnails is erratic, sometime they play then not.

So how many do you see?

Removing Triple Scoop from showing in library is simply a matter of right clicking the library folder name and choose “Hide this Folder”

Hi lata,

Which Library?

I found out that it's impossible to even listen to one of them --unless I have my modem hooked up to the Internet! It stutters, garbles, and finally crashes out of my attempt to listen to them. And, I can't even delete them from within that "Triple Scoop Music" folder (while in the VS application). Apparently, Corel is tracking everything we do, just like Google does. I find that a disturbing invasion of privacy. I thought this was a stand-alone program. I finally found that I could "hide" that particular folder, which I did and it'll remain hidden. I'll never purchase any of those items anyway, especially because of the way they handled this. Does anyone have a link to the complete list of everything this Patch #3 offers? I looked and couldn't find one anywhere.

Yes I seem to have 1028 as well

some are showing the music icon and are mp3 which appear to play without problems

some of the thumbnails are showing the yellow "not linked" icon

but twice while in that library "Videostudio stopped working" and the only option was to close the programme

I am going to hide that folder and never unhide it

Hi Brian

Thanks for that, I don’t think the yellow icon is a re-link flag?
I had VS crash once but could not replicate it.

Yesterday I had reason to view my %temp% folder and found some 400ish Jpeg images all relating to Triple Scoop, maybe just showing with windows 7, that set me looking at the library.

Anyway I don’t like this Triple Scoop or what its doing to my pc.
1028 thumbnails is stupid to say the least.

I will flag my concerns to Nick

Triple Scoop Music is located here, C:\Users\Public\PublicMusic\TripleScoopMusic, if they are causing any issues, try removing them

yes that's fine for the mp3 music tracks Robert - most of which came with previous versions - they are not a problem - but where are the 1000+ other icons which are now in the triple scoop library - they are the ones causing problems and I can't find them to remove them

As I don't have SP3 installed, that was something I could not check if there was any difference with SP3 installed
What happens if you disable the internet then open VSX9, do the 1000+ icons still display, if they do, then they are located somewhere

Well I switched off the internet before attempting to stat X9 - it did not start - waited about 4 minutes watching the splash screen - no start

killed the splash screen with task manage - put the internet back on and attempted to restart X9 - all I get now after about 1 minute of splash screen is "load from screen error" - several attempts at shutting down the computer - restarting then starting X9 all result in 'load from stream error"

got to sort that now

Sorry about that Brian, but I can run VSX9 without being connected to the internet

But you can't start VS X9 with SP3 installed if you are not connected to the internet. I get the same thing happening as Brian described and you" can't close the " "load from screen error" error as it keeps popping up.

That SP3 update is a major disaster and Corel better get it fixed. In the meantime they should remove it from their site.

Agree with you entirely, there are a considerable number of users who do not have continuous internet available, so the current situation is untenable

Just another tidbit...

I "Hid" the Triple Scoop Music folder early this morning. Later on, I wanted to view it again to do a test of something. However, there is no way that I can find to "Unhide" that same folder. I searched the VS application screen and all over my hard drive looking for that folder and, after I found it (on my hard drive), .... it was empty! HA HA. So, either Corel forgot to add the option to "Unhide" folders, or else something else is bonkers with Patch #3.

I wanted to look at one of those music files again because earlier this morning I noticed that when I viewed the 'Properties' of one of those songs, it had a link to "TripleScoopMusic.com" in the Details section of the files' 'Properties'. (Note: I'm using Window 7 Pro, 64-bit). I'm only guessing but, maybe those files wont' open UNLESS the Internet is turned on so that it can connect to that website, automatically? Anyway, I can't do the test because (somehow) there are no more Triple Scoop Music files (at all!) on my system. I was going to attempt removing that web site link from the Details to see what would happen. LOL. Oh, well.

If you right click in the space below where those folders are listed you should get an option to 'Show All Folders'. That should 'unhide' Triple Score listings. It did for me... though I've hidden them again.

Hi Guys

Just catching up here,

I disconnected from the internet, CVSX9 ran ok with TSM hidden

Disconnected internet with TSM showing, CVSX9 took a while to launch showing the splash screen for a while, then opened ok.
However no Triple Scoop Music showing in the library and it is not hidden.

Connected to internet, restarted CVSX9, again takes a while, quite a while must be reading the TSM files, then ran again, but this time I have no Triple Scoop Music at all.
A new start provided me with the TSM library again, what a relief I thought I had lost those files

But for me the program runs with internet turned off.
