Hi,
VS Pro X7 keeps freezing while rendering at 6% progress. The progress bar always stops exactly at 6%, becomes unresponsive, and I have to kill the program through task manager. I have tried outputting on several different resolutions and formats. I have also moved the order of the video clips around and no matter what I do it always just freezes at 6%. I have never had this problem before and I am using the same computer as many previous successful creations, but this is my first time using VS since my computer recently updated itself to Windows 10. I'm lost at what to try next?
Thanks,
Justin

What is the format of the video you are trying to edit? Is it all the same format in that project? What are the properties both of the video itself and of the Project? As you will know, to get the video Properties, right click on a clip in the timeline and select Properties. Either copy them manually here or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.

Re: VS X7 Crashing While Rendering
I am using all mp4 files, but some are 4K and some are 1080P. The 4K were shot with an IPhone 6S and the 1080P were shot with a handheld. I've narrowed the problem down to one particular 4K file. All of the other 4K files render fine, just this one is causing issues. I have tried converting this file to 1080P with AnyVideoConverter and even tried changing it to a different video type and it still hangs up on this one short video (14 seconds). My project properties on the top right of the screen show as 720x480 but I always output as mp4 1080P. Any ideas?

Hi
You should try setting Project Properties to use same as video properties.
Right click your clip and choose properties, take note and set Project Properties the same.
Similar to
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 3840 x 2160, 29.97 fps ( I assume 29 not 25?)
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 34000 Kbps, 16:9
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 256 Kbps
There is an option to Show Messages via Preferences (F6) that will match the video properties. However, when I tried that the program crashed when importing 4K video.
It did not crash with that option deselected. Having said that you should try ticking Show Preferences to see what happens. (interesting that Show Messages crashed the program, something to remember)
The images properties you show are Mov type, I thought your 4K were Mpeg4, are those properties the original 4K video properties or a converted file?

Re: VS X7 Crashing While Rendering
I converted all of the 4K over to 1080P and it worked. I've never had any issues combining different resolutions before. Thanks a lot for the help!
