Movie Factory 3 & 4 burning 8 X dvd-r as 12 X

I have just tried burning an 8 x dvd-r disc (I always used 4x up to now). The drive is a pinoneer 108 with the latest firmware. If I let MF pick the speed set to max it burns the disc at 12 X. Some timetimes it will let me pick 8x from the burn menu - but not always.

But, if I want to copy a DVD there isn't an option for 8x. It has 2, 4, 10, 12 and 16. This baffles me as 8x is a common burning setting.

It looks as if the MF burn engine is missing a preset for 8x burning which is quite frankly nuts.

And yes, I do have the latest updates!
