ASP3 Default settings are not applied

Hi,

I saved some settings as camera default, but the only way I found to apply these settings is to manually click 'Apply default settings' on each and every photo. Even if I select many photos and click 'Apply default settings' the settings are only applied to the first photo. I expected the default settings to be automatically applied to the photos when I open/import a file, but this is not the case. How can I setup ASP3 to automatically apply my default settings?

This problem seems to apply to RAW defaults, too. As it doesn't seem to have been reported in the Bugs & Suggestions forum, perhaps the mods might want to move the thread across?

From what I see it seems the "camera raw settings" are applied when a folder is opened to all images. If now, while this folder is open you modify the settings, the new settings are not applied to any photo that are already open = the settings are read and applied once. You have to close the folder and reimport the files.

What do you mean by 'close the folder'? Initially I was working in file system mode. After changing my settings I tried restarting ASP3 and opening files in file system mode, but this did not apply the settings. I then tried to import the files into my catalog with the same effect. I even tried renaming the folder with the files on my hard drive - ASP3 had to recreate the thumbnails, but the settings were still not applied.

I don't use the catalog, only the file system. When you ingest new images into ASP, the program holds a certain number of files in a buffer. This is why when you open ASP again on the same folder your images are immediately available for edition.

In "MY" version of ASP (ASP Pro 3 trial, bu tit is the same in ASP Pro 2) if you change settings on these "in buffer" images, the settings will not apply. If however you open a older folder, the content of this folder is ingested again (you see this at the lower left side of the ASP main window 10... of 319, 18.. of 319 , etc. If you look at one of these images your new settings have been applied.

AT least it is how it works here. It is an obvious bug, if you signal it to Corel it will be immediately corrected (a sad joke).

One way around (I have not tried) is to save your settings as a preset, select the images of interest and apply the preset.

I got some new photos that AS3 never saw, and the camera default settings nor raw default settings were not applied to these Not much I want here, just to apply lens correction and vignette correction when I start working on an image. I'm using Application vers.: 3.0.0.126. I'm also on trial, but highly considering buying since it speeds up my workflow (compared to different software).

I ended up creating a simply script in AutoHotkey which simulates pressing Ctrl+R and Down arrow in a loop. I run this before actually starting my work. Trial has ended, not sure about buying.

I'm also wondering why ASP3 doesn't automatically have lens correction parameters, even though my lens seems to be in the database?
