VS X9 Ultimate Quirks

Post by bigd9422 »

Hi

Some things i have noticed in VSX9 Ultimate that don't seem to make sense as compared to my VS6 program.

1. When dragging in a transition effect i always seem to get a warning that if i continue I may cause a synchronization issue with the material that follows the transition. Why does this always appear? How can i fix this error message.

2. When I tell the program to continue and insert the transition, I have the following problem: If i drop in a video clip or picture between already existing clips, the clip that follows is always shortened. For example, if i have two :03 picture clips side by side and i want to increase the length of one to :04 seconds, the picture clip that follows is always shortened by a second. This seems to happen after i get that error message above.

Can you please help?

I'm on VS X9 Ultimate with Service pack three installed. (yes i found it thanks to this board!)

Thanks

Mark

Also...I'd like to add that I believe i have the same results (one clip becomes shorter) with ripple editing active and inactive.

thanks again!

I cannot duplicate your problem #1. Perhaps some information on exactly what you are doing might help to understand what is happening

The same applies to problem #2. Please explain step-by-step what you are doing, include transition, durations, etc

Hi

1 / I think you have Ripple Editing enabled and the warning is that you are gonna disturb the sync by changing the timelines durations.

2 / When we add a transition between clips the two clips are overlapped by the duration of the transition, this has the effect of shortening the clips, this is normal and the way Video Studio works.
