My Docs folders and the 19.0 reset folder are not removed, if the problem is with the latter then you may have to delete/rename that.
Thanks for that tip, Trevor. I renamed the 19.0 folder before reinstalling X9. But since that folder is so central to the proper performance of VS, I can only wonder why the cleanup tool does not remove it.
A further query in this regard relates to the Bonus Features and Standard Content. When I opened the reinstalled X9 (as version 19.2.0.4 i.e. with SP2 already included), none of those extra features were present. Yes, the Bonus Features were installed separately in their various folders (Boris, proDAD) but they did not appear in the program itself -- and remember the 19.0 was newly created. I noted when I first started the reinstallation process -- which I had done from scratch -- that the installer program had indicated that the Standard Content and Bonus Features were already installed, and I wondered about that, but let it do its thing. But of course there were no installers for those extra bits in the new download. Luckily I had them backed up on a separate computer and installed them from there (plus a new 19.0 folder created).
I also created a Restore point before installing the new SP3 again...
But I can only say that I have found the whole process not only disappointing, but terribly confusing. And if I am confused after all these years dealing with VS since version 7, I can only understand the frustration which many more recent users must be feeling right now!
