I noticed 6 windows updates yesterday?

I am about to install CVSX9 so can check the DnD, but will be a few hours before I can complete that?
May save you re-installing?

This question will not solve the former problem of CVS X9.
Not every update from Microsoft and WIN7 is *!*!*.

Can you click on the timeline to deselect any clips in the library/ move curser away from library.

Before the WIN7-Update last night CVS 19.2.0.4 starts without interruption, and DnD works.
After the WIN7-update last night CVS 19.2.0.4 starts with this start-screen:

and DnD is not in function.

Your version number 19.2.0.4 indicates that SP2 has been installed.

If SP3 was installed then the version number would be 19.3.0.19

Is there any reason why SP3 has not been installed

and after installation of SP3, CVS starts in former times also with the same silly start-screen, also before the WIN7 update yesterday.

My opinion: This silly start-screen is a clue for the reason, why DnD has no function.

That screen is not a Corel message but put out by Windows when it detects that some program wants to make changes to your system. You can get that for all sorts of programs when installing them.

FWIW, I got some updates for Win 10 last night (14 July). Just tested DnD this morning on VS 19.3.0.19 and it works fine whether dragging from Windows File Explorer to the VS library window or the timeline. In the latter case, with most of my file types I continue also to be asked if I want Project Properties to match those of the clip I am dropping. So everything seems still to be OK under Win 10.

Yes, I say "Ja".
I know, that this start-screen is a WINDOWS-Message (not a COREL message). But in former times, since more than 10 years, this silly start-screen never appears when I started CVS.
This silly start-message describes the conflict of WIN7 with WIN10 and CVS. Something is wrong and not compatible.

Give it a try, all my issues with SP3 are now resolved with X9.5, since installing this morning, everything seems to work with no crashes
