Ken Berry wrote:When you reinstalled X9 did you use a version you had already downloaded some time ago and saved; or did you start over again and download from Corel again? I ask because that error message you got is Corel's strange way of saying your version of VS is already fully up to date. This would suggest that Corel might already have included SP3 in its download version.

Did you download SP3 fresh or use a version you might have downloaded a few days ago? It is the latest version which gives you 19.3.0.19. Get it from http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/suppor ... duct-tab_0 and ignore the date shown. This is the latest version.

Thanks, Ken, the "SP3" in the version of the link you have told is the right version. Now the update was successfull. Now I have version 19.3.0.19. GREAT. THANKS, Ken

But know a I have an old problem with this bug in CVS X9. Look this video:

https://youtu.be/4Dfl0AkeuCM

Problem:
When you want to enlarge or shorten a file, the file will not be enlarged or shortened, when you have clicked on "OK".
You must additionally click on the file itself to enlarge or shorten the file. This is not a bug in the the first row, but in 2. row and the following rows of the project.
When you forget the additionally click on the file the CVS X9 crashed.
Do you understand my problem?

It certainly works for me. I can drag and drop a variety of formats from Windows File Explorer to the VS timeline. I have just done so with mp4, mov, mpeg-2 and wmv files. They all worked and VS did not crash.

Have you tried this with only one type of format? What happens when you try -- do you get an error message or a crash?

Strangely enough, I have never tried that before. But I have just tried it now. When I right-clicked the video in an overlay track and chose "Speed/Time-lapse", then varied the speed, and clicked OK, the clip immediately changed length in the overlay track. I did not have to click on the clip itself to get it to change. So again mine seems to be working correctly.

Have you tried rebooting your computer, then reopening VS to see what happens then when you try these things?

Ho Trevor,

Reply to your remarks several posts back . . . about
1. A new clean up tool.
The old one got a lot of user group critique some months ago, and my comment was really to find out what I had missed - a quickie look over the prior prior posts to the thread did not seem to show anything.
2. Using the cleanup tool.
Ordinarily, your process is what I use - control panel, uninstall, cleanup using cclean including the registry: it's amazing how many registry settings are left over after the uninstall process is finished; then re-boot before any new install action. But sometimes, a new update or release of the program really gets its knickers in a knot: there's something somewhere that - even after this - cripples/prevents a new install. That's when I've found the cleanup tool is useful - to get rid of everything, so I can start afresh: and it should remove any related personal settings, eg for X9, so that can happen as tho it was a brand new install.
3. VS on windows 10.
I ventured a comment about this several days ago (ie, that win7 users don't seem to have the drag and drop issues being reported), and every new post seems to verify it. Windows 10 is the only OS that will NOT allow any user choice about updates: auto update or nothing, default to auto. So I surmise that the variability in performance of VS being reported is a result of irregular but automatic (meaning, unseen by the user) updating to the win10 OS.

OTOH, Microsoft it trying to standardise the win10 installation platform, (the pro's call it a standard operating environment (SOE)) and the aim is to minimise support cost by minimising variability between users. Usually, SOE is a term used by the IT gurus in industry organisations, but MS is clearly trying to apply it to a world base. OTOH, what that means is that all the "specials" - like language and currency items - get stuffed into every machine without you knowing it, and whether they apply or not. Bloat squared. And there is plenty of evidence that is upsetting what would normally be platform (OS plus application) stability.

The initial SP3, 19.3.0.18, introduced a crash when Drag and Drop to the timeline. The replacement for it, still labeled SP3 has version 19.3.0.19...same as Trevor has detailed earlier here. However the website update is still in progress so the release date and translated text are unchanged and confuse things further. Our apologies for this - we wanted to resolve that DnD crash ASAP.

As for RobertOZ's report about the "corrupted file" dialog and the relation to TSM in Library, we will contact him for investigation.

Again, our apologies for the confusion, we are working to resolve the issues ASAP and stay close to this discussion in the meantime.

No, I get no message and no crash. Drag&drog has simply no function, look this video:

https://youtu.be/FhIPra3RJvg

The start of CVS is also strange. This START-message always appears when I have updated CVS by ServicePacks downloaded as an .exe-file.

Now I have tried in second times CVS X9 SP2 reinstalled, after I have successfull used the new-Cleaning-Tool for X9

But the problem is:
Every time when I want to install the Patch SP1 and SP2 I get also this message:
CVS_Fehler_20160619.jpg
Next problem: Without SP3 the CVS-programm does not open existing projectfiles. Without a message the existing projectfiles will not open.

Unfortunately, .vsp files created in VSX9 SP3 cannot be opened in VSX9 SP2, what some members are now doing when using SP3, is to save as a VSX8 project which can be opened with VSX9 SP2, just in case they need to revert back to SP2, it has been necessary for me to do that, due to continuing issues with SP3

I think the original SP3 file is being used after re-installing VSX9

Try this

Uninstall X9
Please delete the contents of these folders.

1 / Delete Messages in APPDATA\Corel
The appdata folder is hidden by windows -- so type (%appdata%) in windows start/search to find roaming folder.
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages
Then delete contents of Message folder

2/ Delete the CONTENTS of the Downloads and Messages folder in C:\ProgramData\Corel

Now Install Video Studio and then run the program.
DO NOT manually install any Service Packs.
After running the program a few times an Update should show to install SP3, installing SP3 automatically.

I assume you have purchased the download version.
