I have run PSP v10.10 on W7.1 (64-bit) and W8.1 (32-bit) Operating Systems for years.
I upgraded the W8.1 system to W10 by "bare metal install" route, after using the W10 icon's "check your PC" tool, which confirmed my computer, all programs and peripheral hardware would run on W10. I have been unable to install PSP 10.10 on it, maybe because of lack of an un-corrupted installer.
I see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PaintShop_Pro states that only Paint Shop Pro x8 to current will run on W10. But that page also states only X6 and later will run on W8.1. I know PSP 10.10 ran quite OK on both W7.1 and W8.1, so that web-site can't be relied on.
I want the earliest version of PSP that will work on W10, as current versions are too many versions since v10.10 that I know how to use, ie they will take too much learning.
Q) Can someone tell me the earliest version that will run on W10 please?

Re: Windows 10 Compatible Versions (PSP)
I have version 8, X2-X8 running on Windows 10. Frome seeing the results of others I suspect that the type of machine, the degree of updates and the interference of other programs may make it difficult for some to get their older versions working.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Re: Windows 10 Compatible Versions (PSP)
There are a few points worth making...
That a version will run is not the same as will install.
and that it will run is not necessarily classed the same as being fully compatible.

Re: Windows 10 Compatible Versions (PSP)
Thanks fellows, but can I ask follow-up questions?
Hartpaul, I don't quite follow which version you mean. Is "version 8, X2-X8" what others call X8? If so, I was hoping an earlier version would run on W10 v1511 (and hopefully later updates of W10).
Ragpole, I guess I want the earliest version that will install and run reasonably well on W10 v1511.
And another consideration, I see X5 and earlier were 32-bit, X6 and later are 64-bit. I have a 32-bit desktop and 64-bit notebook. Will either type of PSP run on either machine (my notebook runs numbers of 32-bit programs, installed in a Program Files (x86) folder.

Re: Windows 10 Compatible Versions (PSP)
It's Flagpole with an 'F'.
the 32bit versions will run just fine on 32bit OS's.
the version numbers are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X or 10, X1, X2 etc it's like a clever roman numeral thing.
IN respect of your main question i don't know. I'd personally be surprised if there are any that don't run, if they don't you still might be able to make it.

I have computers including laptops running XP, Windows 7 windows 8.1 and windows 10.
I have PSP versions 8 (Jasc version number eight ) and then Corel PSP X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, X8 (although X8 will not run on the XP version (only 32 bit). All the versions are running on the Windows 10 computer without any noticeable problems so far.
From versions X6 Corel released 32 bit and 64 bit versions of each of the programs. The 32 bit versions have been necessary to support the large range of older plugins that only work in 32 programs even though they may be working in a 32 bit or 64 bit Windows environment.
Your main problem may be in getting legitimate copies of the older versions of the program including the Service patches .
But re taking too much learning, the later versions have all of the features of the earlier versions and roughly in the same place. I can switch between PSP8 and PSP X8 with very little changes in procedure so long as I stay in Edit mode in X8.
You might be better off buying PSP X7 which should be available from some vendors ( Big problem for some is the changed Save on X8 which is a killer for anyone working on a lot of images at once. It diverts to a Save As for each new image which slows down the process.

Apologies Flagpole, I have an eye disease which limits my vision, and I didn't look closely enough, and didn't enlarge the font on that post.
And thinks to both for your help, I reckon I now can get something working.

Re: Windows 10 Compatible Versions (PSP)
Just to correct a typo for folks reading this thread. Corel's 64-bit versions started with version X6, not version 6, which was a JASC product.
