Custom Keyboard Shortcuts keep resetting to default

Post by Khuri »

PSP 18.2.0.61 x64 (Windows 7 Pro)

TL;DR: Since the latest update, PSP doesn't remember my custom keyboard shortcuts.

I've always been using shortcuts/assigned keys for tools that slightly vary from the default layout (and includes shortcuts to tools that have no default key assigned). Since the latest patch, PSP only remembers the settings for the current opened image (if I changed them).
As soon as I close and reopen PSP or even if I simply load another image while the program is open, the keyboard layout/shortcuts is reset to default.

Anyone has a workaround, like is there a config file with the default keyboard layout I could simply modify or something?
Any advice is welcome :) (expect "learn the default layout", thanks :P)

After setting up your keyboard shortcuts you could try saving your workspace to see if that helps. I had the same problem you are experiencing with PSPX8 and previous versions but the keyboard shortcuts seemed to stick after setting them up a second time.

Maybe save your workspace after changing keyboard shortcuts, so you can reload? I have no idea if it would work.
menu File/Workspace/Save... and don't save open images.
File/Workspace/Load... to load a saved workspace.

Edit: Great minds think alike, Kathy :)

Thanks a lot, that helped!
When I read "Workspace" I faintly remembered I dealt with the problem that way before as well.
And lo and behold, I went to save a custom workspace and it told me that I already have a previous created one, which I totally forgot about ;) (after the update I quickly setup my viewports to my default like a zombie, as it always resets them on update; maybe PSP should have a reminder after an update saying "you want to load your custom workspace xy?")

Anyway, overwriting the (existing) workspace, changing the keyboard layout, saving the workspace again and reopening PSP, now it properly remembers my settings :)
Thanks for the hint! Case closed!
