What is the procedure for moving photos around in sequence in VS Pro X7?
I'm trying to create a slide-show (to DVD) with up to 80 photos.
I'm not using the Fast Flick program, and I can't seem to find any
instruction in the VS Pro X7 manual for the procedure.
Thanks in advance for any pointers!

Re: Moving Photos Around in VS Pro X7
could you be a little more explicit - do you mean animating photos while the video plays - or do you mean moving them around in the timeline while editing.

I mean moving them around on the Timeline while editing.
I haven't placed any photos from the Library yet to the Timeline for this project. It's been my experience, with other projects, that when adding a video clip to the Timeline, all the other clips automatically get added, too--which would be a nightmare to sort on the Timeline, what with up to 90 photos!

Re: Moving Photos Around in VS Pro X7
How are you adding clips to the timeline then - if you select just one in the library and drag it down to the timeline only the one selected will move - not the rest

Re: Moving Photos Around in VS Pro X7
I drag a clip from the Library to the Timeline, but as I said, all the other clips wind up getting placed in the Timeline via this
one-clip dragging placement.
None of the 90 photos in the Library are in sequential order, which they have to be in the Timeline.
Somewhere I saw that if you hold down the Ctrl key while dragging a clip/photo to the TL, then only the one clip will wind up in the TL, not
including the others....

You are doing something wrong: as Brian posted, moving one clip/photo only moves one not a whole set.DayO wrote:I drag a clip from the Library to the Timeline, but as I said, all the other clips wind up getting placed in the Timeline via this

Also, the sequence of clips/photos in the library pane are shown in the sort order you have chosen. To change the sort order, click on the little down arrow near the upper right of the library pane.

Re: Moving Photos Around in VS Pro X7
Well, I'll re-attempt my dragging photos to the Timeline.
Meantime, can you (or anyone else) tell me how to set up Preferences for a photo slideshow in VS Pro X7?

Hi
From preferences we can set the durations of the image and transitions
Go to Settings – Preferences (F6) some settings I use
Edit tab
Resampling Quality – Best
Default Photo/color duration –Your choice as to how long the image will display – try 9 seconds
Audio 2 seconds
Transition 2 seconds
Automatically add transition – tick
Default transition effect, I use FX – Crossfade, keeping it simple I think is best.
Ok to close the panel
Restart Video Studio
Try a test.
From the new project select a few images in the library,
Use Shift + Click to highlight adjacent images or Ctrl + Click
Right click selection and choose Insert to Video track, may work better than dragging?
That will/should place those images on the timeline and add a crossfade transition at 2 seconds.
Switch your timeline view to use Storyboard will allow you to view images as thumbnails and help in re-arranging the order.
You seem to say that your images are not in chronological order, you may be best to do that before importing to Video studio.
However the library has a sort option top right icon adjacent to slider ( Sort by Date) does that work for you?
