AfterShot Pro 3 - Linux - Crash on loading pano as jpg
Loading a directory with jpg files under Linux leads to replicable crashes. I eliminated batches of files until I found one causing a crash. I then opened the panorama photo in gimp and saved it again. Now ASP3 could load the file. However ASP2 had no issue with the original file.

Yes I can confirm this - I have the same problems here (Panos from Autopano_Pro/Giga)! Opening and saving with gimp helps!

Thanks for your reply and confirmation. I'm using Autopano as well and ASP3 seems to have a problem with some of these files. Using gimp as an intermediate step to make it work is only an exceptional solution.
Since you are using Autopano, may I ask you if your are running into the same issue with squared brackets in file names (default setting in Autopano) as I have described it in my other posting? Thanks

I am not using the default file names in Autopano!

Re: AfterShot Pro 3 - Linux - Crash on loading pano as jpg
i have experienced similar hickups and i don't use Autopano. my best guess is that something in the metadata section of the JPGs is causing ASP to choke. not the actual metadata, but how the library that saves the image is handling the various headers, sections etc. i haven't been able to track down the exact reason and/or lib yet.
Bibble since 2004. Aftershot until 2020. From then on darktable.

I have experienced this as well. It seems AFP v3 has problems opening jpgs created by AFP v2.x and Lightzone on my Linux box over here.
