Undo button disappears after flood fill
I used the "Selection" tool to marquee a page then used the Flood Fill tool to create a gradient background. I then clicked on "Selections" (upper text menu) and selected "None." Now, if I wish to undo the change to the page, I am unable as the Undo icon is grayed. I think I clicked on every option in the toolbar. The manual and tutorials offer no help. Anybody know the secret of how to undo a step when using the Flood Fill tool, or is use of the Flood Fill tool irreversible? (It should not be this difficult.)

Re: Undo button disappears after flood fill
I don't get the same result. I make a selection (part of the image or all of the image, it doesn't matter) and flood fill the selection. When I go to Selection>Select None, the Undo icon is still active. If I click it then the selection marquee that I had deselected reappears. When I click Undo again the flood fill disappears. Clicking Undo once more causes the original selection to disappear and then (if I hadn't done anything previously to the image) the Undo icon greys out.
I notice that you have Windows 7. People with that OS have had various issues with X8, particularly with the first two patches. Which version of X8 do you have? By that I mean do you have any of the patches installed? You can see your version by clicking on Help>About.

Re: Undo button disappears after flood fill
Does Ctrl+Z work?
In my case, doing what you describe does not gray out the Undo button. Edit > Undo Fill is also still active after I first select Edit > Undo Select None. And Ctrl+Z also works -- although I have to click it twice, first to undo the Select None, and then to Undo Fill...

Re: Undo button disappears after flood fill
Thanks for the responses.
I discovered the problem is caused by lack of PC power, though maybe Corel's algorithms are not very efficient; since I can do some basic editing of my large image (21000 x 12000 pixels) in IrfanView, without any slowdown. I'm running version Corel PSP X8, 64-bit on an Asus P6T and 24 GB RAM. After applying an effect, the Undo icon appears after about 5 minutes!

Re: Undo button disappears after flood fill
And I am using a Core i3 4th generation with only 8 GB RAM. But as I say, I don't have any such problem...

Re: Undo button disappears after flood fill
Seems weird you didn't mention you were working on a 250MP image. Feel bad for anyone who tried to reproduce your fault without that information.
It may be that the problem is actually with the saving of the Undo information. maybe look at the first page in the preferences, turn it off if necessary. or set up a ram disk.
