Black and white video footage

I have DVD movie factory version 2, I installed the software successfully and pluged in my analogue camcorder. When I import the video footage to DVD movie factory the images appear in black and white, even though i have set the preferences to be PAL does anybody know why ?

What is the source material? NTSC? What are the project settings and the settings of the capture card? I suspect, somewhere along the lines, there is a NTSC device or setting involved.
