Hi
I notice that some filters will have an influence on render speeds on my VSP x9
E.g. I'm rendering a 1 hour HD clip from a few cameras and I noticed after an overnight render, only 4% was achieved. I removed the "Touch Up" and "Colour Fixer Plus" filters and noticed a much faster render speed (4% after 1 hour, 2-pass conversion). Whilst it is still slow, the amount of filters can have an impact on render speeds. ( I have a dual core HP PC)
Would an upgrade to computer hardware by increasing cores, RAM, graphics card go a long way in speeding up render?
Or
Does VSP simply have restrictions within itself for rendering no matter what the computer spec? (only 50% CPU speed is being used during the render process)

Re: Filters that affect render speeds
Hi,
Well surly FXs "affect" render speed, and Touch Up was reported slow as few other NB's.
unless you will upgrade to super computer no major change will happens.
You better stick to less FXs as possible or go on a long vacation.
** Maybe we should make a ticker for all those slow useless FX's.

Re: Filters that affect render speeds
Should VSP not be using 2 x cores first before upgrading my PC?

Re: Filters that affect render speeds
I'll add this observation - I engage an Internet lock-out then stop (disable) my anti-virus program which does speed up rendering on my system. I also kick my cooling fans to max while rendering.
