My eraser's gone wonky

Post by awm03 »

Did I change a setting or something? When I try to erase a layered object, the erased area looks like lattice instead of being fully erased to let the underlying layer show through. What do I do wrong?

Check your materials palette, do you have a background texture active?

That is a very old feature that was documented in PSP7 (the JASC version) but never was mentioned afterward. It is a cool feature, when you know about it!

Doh! Yes, I must have accidentally clicked on a texture for the background. Still a little wobbly with my new Wacom pen & tablet.

Thank you so much for solving this. I was getting frustrated :) It will be a cool technique, though, for when I want to use it.

It makes me real happy to know that other folks do silly things. It's not just me. :D
