Can't Render dvp to avi The file may be write protected

Post by Edwin »

Whenever I try to render my video file to avi format a message appears saying The file may be write protected. What do I do? I am using Media Studio Pro 6. I believe the problem only started when I updated Pro 6. I did not have this problem until recently. Please Help! Is anybody out there. Edwin

Weird

Do you have any other Video Editors installed with some rogue codecs?

This probably isn't your problem, but I had this happen once a long time ago. It turned out that the directory that I was trying to render into was set to read-only. It got that way because I had restored it from a cd.

Hope that helps.

Why would you render to AVI? What is the source format?

Are you trying to simply render your edited timeline in your project settings (what are they?) or converting from your timeline or converting using the Convert function or Exporting???? When does the message show?

Unless you give us full details, we can only guess in the dark.
