PNG transparent background shown as black in PSP X8

I had to make an account hoping someone can help me out.
I downloaded a few images with transparency which I want to copy and paste together.
But I can't figure why some PNG files been loaded in PSP X8 the transparency are not shown propperly. The background is black.
So when using copy and paste it will be like on the left:


I figured out when using Gimp and change the modes to RGB, save it and then use it in X8 copy and paste will be as on the right as it should (?) be.
Can't PSP X8 handle/detect Indexed?

Steps in Gimp (Dutch, sorry about that):


The PNG files beneath look the same using your browser, however not in X8

Or why it's acting like that?

I'm not sure why it causes the background to show as black. I have noticed if I right-click and copy an image from the internet and then paste it into PSP it has the black background shown in your example. However, if you right-click and save the image to your desktop and then open it in PSP it maintains its transparency.

This is usually because the image is pallet based. as in PNG8 rather than PNG24

A lot of images on the web will be PNG8 often created with tinypng.com because they are smaller and google insists that you do optimise your images.

I've been asking for this for years, but they aren't interested.
