ASP 3 is still not working for me. I upgraded when it was first released. I was hoping there would be an update by now, but "check updates" tells me i have the latest version. Obviously the upgrade was never tested before release?

I also shoot Canon, so maybe what has been said is true that ASP 3 does not support Canon Raw CR2 files. ASP 2 is working fine with my Canon RAW files. ASP 3 is totally unusable for me. At this point the new version is a lemon.

It is work noting here that I started this thread on May 16th. Approaching 3 months ago.

And in that time we have had one update that did not address this issues in this thread.

This thread has 90+ posts and over 6000 views.

The issues can be summed up as.

1. The 'No image available' problem

2. The effect and adjustment controls on the right work sometimes but not always.

3. Exporting seems to have random rates of success. Sometimes all of the image, sometimes some of the image, sometimes nothing get exported.

4. The HDR tool does not work. An image loaded into it is rendered too dark to work with.

5. And perhaps the biggest issue. Corel have not fixed it.

Did I forget anything?

Who else is having these problems with Canon CR2 files?

Regardless of that let us know what image types you are trying to work with.

Here, here. I have a whole bunch of 80D CR2 files waiting to be processed so I'd like to believe that they are working on the issue. I really would like to but right now, Canon's own DPP is starting to look might good.

In the mean time I have gone back to ASP version 2.

Oh, what a joy of a program that is. I could rate image, edit images and export. Is that too much to ask from version 3?

Now thanks to this mess I have around 1400 raw images to process at around 120 a time. At least now I have a tool that can do the work. Each batch takes me between 45 and an hour.

I'll load version 3 every so often to see if they have fixed the problems with AfterShot Pro 3.

[quote="Dobly"]In the mean time I have gone back to ASP version 2. .../quote]I wish I had that option, unfortunately, my Canon 80D is not in version 2. It is getting close to the point where all this faffing about will close the door on ASP for me. Luckily, there are other choices out there. :D

Since I went back to ASP2 I have processed around 800 images without a problem over around 5 hours. ASP2 reminds me on why I like After Shot Pro so much.

I was hoping the ASP3 would be an UPGRADE. You know, one version later. Alas, no.

So the question is will they fix it? And if they do will it be 'better' than ASP2 (for me and my 7D images)?

While waiting, sigh, for 80D raw support, I thought I would work on some older G11 raw files. Got through classifying, making some corrections and was applying watermarks when the dreaded No Images issue reared it ugly head. Removed the last watermark and the image was again visible. Activated the watermark and No Image. ASP3 is really trying hard to push me to another solution.

Funny thing is that when I run ASP2, I get a popup telling me that ASP3 is now available!

I can't close that popup quick enough.

Yea but think how long it took them to reach this point. LOL  Meanwhile, I'm just keeping an eye on things here cause as sure as September follows August, I've been pushed to seek my RAW satisfaction elsewhere. Too bad, there was a lot of talk about all the good things in Pro 3 but so far I've not seen much of the walk.

This has been very disappointing! I really like the idea of AfterShot Pro on Linux, but I have to get a refund in this case. Cannot stand paying 69,99 EUR for this ****up. :x

I posted the reply I quoted above in May this year. Now we got September and users still have trouble with the exact same showstopper issue.

It is time to switch software guys. Sad as it is. A proper Linux photo processing software is a great idea, but if it only complicates your work, it is of no use.

I installed a dual boot system with a shared NTFS drive to switch between Linux and Windows 7. Now using C1P. Yes, it is 250€ ... but I created so many beautiful pictures in the month from May to September that I do not regret it a single bit paying the amount of money.

Just my 2 cents.

I eventually got a response from an 'engineer', after much complaining, and bagging them out on Facebook.
The answer was, in short, 'We are aware of the problem and it may be fixed in a future service pack or version'.

So basically, we are left with non-functional software, and a "F&*K YOU" attitude from Corel.
I'm jumping to Lightroom. I'm thoroughly sick of the bullshittery and non-action from Corel. I'm also going to make sure that I let every single photographer I know, in all the closed FB groups I'm in, how Corel have handled this whole debarcle.

Oh FYI- Canon .CR2 files.

and so the slide to mediocrity continues. Whenever raw post processing is discussed in various fora and discussion groups, it is rare that Aftershot is even mentioned anymore. Sad really when you consider that Bibble had a loyal following and the beginning of Aftershot was so promising, it could have been better. I've gone to using DxO and am happy with the results. :D
