Hi Alex, I thought this message in the current minor update solved it, but this is about another matter then?
missing prerequisite libraries for Linux Ubuntu ver. 16.04

I believe that line refers to resolving an installation issue, where libraries that have typically been included in Ubuntu were not in some of its more recent releases. I'm not clear on all of the exact details, but I'll check in with the dev team for a clearer explanation on that and post back soon.

Since you are clearly monitoring this thread, I have filed a bug report on what may be an instance of the Image Not Available problem in a Windows context. Of course I can't say whether it's the same bug ... PM me if the devs would like the file that makes it happen

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Just wrote aftershot XMP for my entire 2016 catalog. Closed it, deleted it from disk.
Then I recreated it and imported all the pictures again. Now Aftershot3 seems stable.
Maybe previous version of ASP2/3 messed up something in the katalog?
Need to test it some more, but for now most of my problems seems to have gone away. Still crashes on some jpg files, misinterpreting them as TIFFs, but that's another bug.
Crossing my fingers....

I also had the exact same response. Cut and paste much?janih wrote:I got this reply from Corel customer support:
"The issue that you contacted us about has already been directed to our engineering team to look into and hopefully get resolved in a timely fashion. The earliest a fix is possible is in a future service pack or new version. We cannot comment on what may (or may not) be in as yet unreleased software. This includes both features and fixes."
Having said that...I went into Preferences > Import and Cache and turned OFF 'Create previews during importing and file system browsing'.
So far, no issues after a couple of hundred images... (all Canon .CR2)
Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
working my way through recent files.. the "No Image Available" bug is directly related the _Perfectly Clear Noise Removal_ tool.
tick the tool off, message disappears.
almost every redraw (zoom, pan) etc is triggering it.

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
For me, that didn't fix it. Turning off 'generate previews' has so far resolved issues - With PC noise removal on or off.grubernd wrote:working my way through recent files.. the "No Image Available" bug is directly related the _Perfectly Clear Noise Removal_ tool.

it's not about a fix. it's about the cause.billlagr wrote:For me, that didn't fix it. Turning off 'generate previews' has so far resolved issues - With PC noise removal on or off.
i have worked through hundreds of files without "No Image Available" because i usually use Wavelet Denoise.
turned on PCNR for a single difficult image, boom, "No Image Available".
then experimented around and it is directly related and very reproducable.
on my xubuntu machine the images most often come back without interaction after some time.
or by changing to another application. etc.
so my guess is that the PCNR interferes with the on-screen drawing library.
that should give Corel enough information to start looking for the real culprit.

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
I downloaded ASP3 to my work computer to try out here. I heard whispers that there is an updated version of ASP3 to be got.
The version I downloaded today (28th July 2016) is 3.0.0.0.148 x64. I'm at work at the moment so I'm not sure what my broken home version is.. Will check tonight.
Anyway, as a test I got 50 ARW files of a workmate from his SonyA6000. These images raw files are 25MB each. Way bigger than the CR2 files from my Canon 7D.
On this PC, with these image, ASP3 worked perfectly. I could not kill it with a stick. I rated images as fast as I could. I altered settings, copied setting from one image to the next and from one image to many. Finally I selected all the images and output them at 1024 width/height.
It worked. Worked the way it should.
This PC is running WIndows 10 and is a i5-4690 with 8gb of ram. A modest pc compared to the gaming beast I have at home.
Fingers crossed that while I have been away from this issue for a few weeks, they put out a fixed version.

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Took a collection of only 137 CR2 (canon raw) image to break After Shot Pro 3.
When I got home today I was excited that there was an UPDATE to the version I had. Surely they had fixed the issue.
Alas, no. I got about half way through rating the images (5 stars to keep / 1 star to not use). About half way before I got a quick flash of No Image. As I push ahead the error appeared more and more until the entire app crashed and had to be shut down. Typical of pre-beta software. Not of what is suppose to be a final 'paid for' application.
I'm going to take that same set of 137 images to work tomorrow, to try it on my install there. That worked good today with 50 much bigger images.

I reckon this image sums up the mess that is After Shot Pro 3.. Note the Basic Adjustments on the right.
How much of a mess is it???
THIS MUCH

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Wow.. So next day.. 24 hours or so later as a gluten for punishment I load After Shot Pro 3 again to try with the set of images that had worked nicely on my work PC.
When I loaded it it was still in the folder from last night. And what do you know? The 'adjustments' I made to the 'mess' image finally worked.

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Ok.. Interesting discovery..
The 50 or so ARW files from my workmates Sony A6000 worked just fine in ASP3. They are 25mb each and ASP3 just flies over them.
I could edit them, copy the effects from one to the rest and export 50 / 50 of them.
The issue for me then is that After Shot Pro 3 does NOT WORK WITH Canon CR2 files.
There, I said it out loud.
Can someone from Corel send me an email and I'll send you a few CR2 files. You seem to have missed these in your testing.
Of any of you out there in the same boat as me who are part of this thread, what files types are you having a problem with??
