This slide started in 2007 with the anouncement of Bibble 5 and the effective standstill of the further development of Bibble 4. It brought with it the alienation of one of the most prominent developer of plug-ins Seam M. Pucket. After a lot of pressure from the user base Bibble 5 was forced out in December 2009 with more bugs than features, without the plug-ins people depended on. I was a faithful follower at that time, even got the upgrade to Bibble 5 and later to ASP 1. I think the people at Bibble saw the desaster long before the sell out to Corel: one after the other jumped ship, the captain first.Martin5000 wrote:and so the slide to mediocrity continues.
For at least seven years we have seen a more or less unsuccessful bug-chase, whereas competitors invested in the further improvement of their software and new features. When you see what DxO, C1, even ACDsee 9 Ultimate, not to speak of RawTherapee (those are only the Raw processors that I have experience with) have to offer, it brings tears to my eyes as a former BIbble fanboy.
In retrospect the Bibble 5 development was a cul-de-sac and I don't think Corel is to blame. They bought a dead horse and are now trying to sell it for what they can get as long as they can get it.
