After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Today I bought After Shot Pro 3 and I'm trying it out for the first time.
Part of my workflow is the go through my folder of images and rate each image 1 or 5. I then use the filter to show only images rated 5. Simple.
This worked fine in After Shot Pro. In both versions 1 and 2 . Now however in ASP3 if I give a rating to an image, that image disappears and i get a message in it's place that says.. No Image Available.
Sometimes the image does not disappear but when I use the arrow down button to move to the next image, that image gets the No Image Available error.
Sometimes the image returns a few seconds later. Other times I have to move to another image and then back to the missing image.
Even After Shot Pro version 1 was rock solid at this simple procedure. This is a bug in After Shot Pro 3

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
It is getting worse..
I just managed to get though about 150 images rating them. I then hit the filter option and selected Show only 5 stars option.
Once I had done that no images would load in the window. The thumbnails were there but clicking them showed me that now familiar error..
No Image Available
Clicking around few thumbnails bring back the main image. But the I pressed C to crop to the selected image and instantly the image disappears and No Image Available appeared.
I am quickly hating After Shot Pro 3.

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Ok, seems to me that there is a memory leak in After Shot Pro 3.
Watching in Task Manager when I first load ASP3 it is using about 270MB of ram.
Each time I use the up or down arrow to move to a different image ASP3s memory usage goes up a little.
If I do that enough it ends up around 800MB.
If at that time I do anything, like press C to crop an image, I get the No Image Available error. From that point on I cannot get the image preview back. Clicking any of the thumbnails has the same error. The only option is to close ASP3 and rerun it.
Doing that lets me get a couple of things done before I have to quit out again, and repeat.

I'm having the same annoying problem. Resizing ASP3's window helps to bring back the photo, but it still flickers the "No Image Available" text.

No image available - I noticed this too - but this also happened with 2.4.0.119 64 bit - when zoom was set to 100% (Ubuntu 14.04).
When ASP 3 is opened for the first time in a session it sometimes freezes - (gray-black-screen) - then crashes - maybe because the disc is in sleep mode?
It works with the second try.
This also happened with 2.4.0.119 64 bit but not with 2.1.2.10

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Here are some telling images of the problems I am having with After Shot Pro 3
This next error is common. This would seem to me to be a very basic 101 type function of this software. Select a thumbnail and preview the image.

That error comes up regularly. I am constantly restarting the software.
The next horror came when I tried to create jpg proofs of 131 images.

It took it 35 seconds and output NO jpgs.. 131 jpgs not created.

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
yes - this is a problem I also noticed - and this also happened with 2.4.0.119 64 bit
try to batch-convert - and noting happens.
After stopping the batch and closing ASP (ASP3 or ASP 2.4.0.119 64 bit) and start again - it works ...
This is really very bad!
With ASP 2.4. I only used it because it has the better UI - and developed the pictures with 2.1.2.10 but now I would loose the new features of ASP 3
So why pay for an upgrade that slows down my workflow?

Same here on Debian 64bit, click on "perfectly clear" and the image vanishes from the preview. But moving files is working now.

Re: After Shot Pro 3 - Images disappear
Have read all of the comments on AfterShot Pro3 which I just purchased yesterday and unfortunately I am having the same problems as the rest of the group. No Image Available and blackened or dark image in HDR, etc. I cannot even use the straighten tool (not sure how many others are affected) without loosing the image IF I even get it to begin with.
Every move I make seems to delete the image. With some experimentation I did find that refreshing does bring the image back temporarily and I suspect (but am not sure) that if I let the mouse wander over to the image it is deleted or image not available.....
Also noticed that when I send the edited (or not) image to PSP8X Ultimate I have at least two images of the same thing open in PSP instead of the single one I should have.
Lens correction is not working well at all.
Very Frustrating! I kept my AS2 and tried it last night. It is still working as it should.
AS3 seems to be a tad faster loading which is great and I love the scrolling of the images this way ..much, much better than the old way with the AS2.
Oh and an FYI when I purchased the Graduated lite and the Graduated Pro filters my CC co apparently got a red flag for some reason and did a fraud check before it went through (something new I guess). It interfered with the process. I installed all of the extras given on the Get More part and all are working (as far as I can tell right now) except for the Graduated Pro and the Silicon Bonk both of which come up as INSTALL. Then when I click on INSTALL the popup says they are each already installed and would I like to replace or install now...neither way worked and after trying 2-3 times each I gave up on that. As far as the payments with the CC , I was called by my CC co to make sure it was a valid purchase from me but that is still pending (nothing wrong with my card or credit, just this) so I don't know whether the CC checks caused some of this or the software.
Love most of the new changes but it is pretty useless for me at this time. I certainly hope these bugs will be found soon..I am anxious to learn all the new possibilities.

Hi! I used to have a lot of freezing also until I bought Cruciate gamers chips giving me 16 GB of ram. I too had 4Gb when I had the freezing issues. Next time I upgrade the mother board or computer will try for 32 GB just to speed things up a bit. Good Luck!

The same or newer version (3.0.0) of this plugin is already installed. Do you want to replace the current version with this one (3.0.0)?
Name: GradFilterPro
Author: Corel
Website: http://www.aftershotpro.com
Version: 3.0.0
Still a black screen with a single raw image in HDR but it did load well

For the record my PC is...
Asus K170-P motherboard
Intel i5 6600 cpu
Radeon 270X GFX
16GB ram
Windows 10 Pro
ie: basic mainstream stuff.
I even tried running ASP3 as admin. That did not help either.
What a waste of money and time this ASP3 is. I found yesterday I could get it to export 10 images at a time, for while before even that stopped working. I suspect this app has a memory leak. Amateur coding from Corel.
