I have the trial version of Studio X9 Pro. When I connect my Sony CX405 camera switch it on and click the capture tab a message comes back that no camera is connected. Try as I might I cannot get the software to recognise it.
The only way I can use the software is to remove the microSD card from the camera and connect it directly to my computer and then use Studio to browse to the video files and import them.
This is a usable work-around but it would be less fiddly if I could import the files from the camera. I am puzzled as to why my camera is not recognised. Has anyone else experienced this, please.

How is your camera connected to your computer?
Does Windows Explorer see your camera? If yes then simply copy the files to your computer. No need to bother with any capture process.
If Windows does not see your camera then you have a Windows problem

Re: Camera not recognised
hi
you cannot use the capture tab with that camera as you are transferring the files not capturing.
however from the edit tab, right click the timeline for Import Digital Media should work.
that will be similar to the browse option.
as I say you are not actually capturing but transferring files to the pc.

Invest in a card reader.
Re: Camera not recognised
Thank you canuck and Trevor. Canuck your suggestion worked ok, Trevor - that explains it, thank you.
To pepegota, my PC is equipped with a card reader but I can access the files through Windows Explorer.
Regards Iain
