Operating System Shares

For the contributors that expounded on/berated (aka ranted) re the angst about VS and OS compatibility and updating that's been around in the forums over the last few months, I found this graphic today - market shares for OS, world-wide for April 2016
OS market share April 2016.jpg
Tellingly:
- venerable old XP still rates at the 3rd highest user base, 8 years after Vista re-placed it. Vista itself has sunk without trace.
- the newer OS's from MS collectively (8,8.1 and 10) are still way less than half the win 7 users . . . .
- the apple OS - for all the hype still barely scratches 7%

Interesting, hey? And MS is supposedly going to be backing off all the intrusive upgrade messages to win 10 after the blasting they are getting about it. And in a microsoft forum about updates after the April patch tuesday one the specialists happily admitted that the win10 reversion process (to the replaced OS) was severely flawed and a re-install of that older platform was a frequent happening.

Maybe the win 7 end-of-support date may get extended again
