Export a vertical video ?

Post by xoidobiox »

Hi all,

I have a project that consists of a video that's 720x1280 (phone vertical video) and an image that's also 720x1280 (made from Corel's screencap of the video, on which I then removed the black borders to make it vertical).
I want to export it with a 720x1280 size, but the "custom image size" is grayed out for me in the "project preference" tab, and when I export it as is, the video is horizontal with black borders.
Please help!

Thank you!

Hi
Try using DV AVI properties, these will allow to set frame sizes (User Defined)

Microsoft AVI files
8 bits, 720 x 1280, 25 fps
Frame-based
Microsoft Video 1
Interleave audio for every 15 frames
15 Key frame rate:, 75% Quality
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Not sure what happens when rendering?

Your best option is to use the phone in landscape when recording video, just we are so used to holding the phone vertically?

Oh
Change the background colour from Black ( F6) will help to identify the frame size / area.

Hi! I am using Corel VideoStudio X8, and under DV AVI properties, the "user defined" frame size is grayed out (unavaillable). Also, I film all my videos horizontally, however in this project I am editing a clip I found online :P
Any idea why I can't select "user defined" ?

Never mind!
I managed to do it. I was trying to change the frame size in project properties instead of in the rendering options! Thank you for your help!
