Save Dialogue

Post by Dijenga »

Searched first, could not find the matter discussed but that may be that I chose the wrong phrase to search for. If so, my apologies.

When I open an image, make changes and click save (NOT "save as" just "save), it takes me to a window that asks what I want to save the image as ... and the original name is in the dialogue box.

When I click "save" in the popup window, I get a "do you want to replace abc.jpg (or whatever the file's name happens to be)?" popup.

Isn't this a bit ridiculous? I clicked on save. If I had clicked on "save as" then I would expect this dialogue.

How can I make it go away?

It's one of the most popular topics. Here's the major discussion that was had.

You cannot change it, but there are workarounds. If you hold SHIFT while clicking on the save button no saveas dialog will pop up. It's the simplest option.

Thanks, looks like I used the wrong nomenclature.
