Long File Names

Hi,
Newbe here, I uninstalled Corel VideoStudio Pro X9 19.1.0.10 and I wanted to delete it from my computer because I am now using an easier product for my movies.
But when I try to delete everything I get a message that "cannot delete file name too long" this applies to every file in the Corel VideoStudio Pro X9 19.1.0.10 folder even to names that are 7 letters/numerals long, excluding the extender. this also applies to all the HTML documents.
In fact every file inside the folder.
Can anybody stop me from pulling my remaining hair out....LOL

It is unusual for that to occur if you have just installed everything on your hard drive - but it can and does happen if you install or back-up to an external drive. It does not just refer to the actual file name but the whole path and it is windows which has the problem.

but do not fret - LongPathtool will solve all those problems - download it FREE from http://longpathtool.com/ and they will be gone in seconds

Hi all,

Problem solved- I got into safe mode and located the folder and renamed it to "dddddd" and this allowed me to delete it.

Thanks all for your advice I will take note of the "longfilename" mentioned and will try
it if I get stuck again. And no doubt I will.
