I used to have X3 and i seem to notice many things missing or changed that i dont like.
Please help
1. How can i make linear gradient fill foreground-backgroud that is dynamic like before ? (i dont have this at all)
2. How can i get more gradients, x3 had so much more of them ?
3. How can i get the save disk icon the old way? I DO NOT want to press the shift every time! if i want to change the compression level iwill press F12 like always before.! #¤#¤#¤
4. Is there a way to lock the toolbar( this one i know: no there is not)
5. Selection has changed also. If I click right click outside of the image, the selection does not get deselected anymore. This is also annoying. Is there a way to change it ?
6. When update comes, it resets my custom added buttons from the toolbars. Is there a way to keep those and still install update ?
Would keep the X3, but it is crashing so often

Right Clicking outside the image either in the workspace or the area outside a tabbed image now has a context menu for changing the Background Color or Customise , General Program Preferences and a number of other actions.5. Selection has changed also. If I click right click outside of the image, the selection does not get deselected anymore. This is also annoying. Is there a way to change it ?
You can still right click outside your selection to deselect and this has been available since the earlier versions.
Your profile shows you as using XP which I believe does not support X8 so perhaps you also need to update your profile info.
If you are using Windows 10 and have installed properly (both 32 and 64 bit versions) then you should be able to find the Foreground / Background gradient at1. How can i make linear gradient fill foreground-backgroud that is dynamic like before ? (i dont have this at all)
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X8\Corel_06
where it is Corel_06_029.PspGradient.
There should be 50 gradient files. This is the same as in my PSP X3.
If you have imported / saved any other gradients in X3 then that will inflate your numbers and you may be able to copy them from your2. How can i get more gradients, x3 had so much more of them ?
C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\My Documents\My PSP Files\Gradients
Welcome to the club. A lot of PSP users have complained about this corruption of the Save function on another thread .3. How can i get the save disk icon the old way? I DO NOT want to press the shift every time! if i want to change the compression level iwill press F12 like always before.! #¤#¤#¤
You can save your work space setup. Use File > Workspace >Save6. When update comes, it resets my custom added buttons from the toolbars. Is there a way to keep those and still install update ?
Not sure if this will also save customised toolbars and buttons as I have not tested that before.

No problem. It saves the customized things...hartpaul wrote: You can save your work space setup. Use File > Workspace >Save

And you may work with different workspaces if you want, each for a specific task (scrapbooking, photo retouching, etc.)

Re: psp x8 missing features
Thank you for feeling my pain!
One more point of pain in a new version:
I have 2 layers, top layer is empty, bottom layer has somethin
I have Flood fill tool selected and matc=none
fill the empty layer-> it takes the area from layer underneath and does not fill entire layer
before it did fill entire layer
whywhywtf#¤#¤#¤3 this changing of my work processes?! I don't see that this is any better, its just different.
I dont also see that where would i need that to be like in a new way
Locking of the toolbars is what we need.

Re: psp x8 missing features
Do you by chance have an active selection on the lower layer?

Re: psp x8 missing features
I could not duplicate your result unless I was applying the fill to the image layer rather than the transparent upper layer and only if the match mode was anything other than none.
As well I could get it by working on the transparent layer and having All Layers ticked.
You might try in top left Presets and drop down - second button on right - Reset to Defaults. Always a good idea to use that Presets default in any tool when you are having troubles.

Re: psp x8 missing features
Sorry, my bad. It was the "use all layers" that was selected in the fill tool toolbar.
